Have you ever tried adding a little more color to your wardrobe? Just to brighten up the usual blacks and dark shades that you typically wear but then Ranveer Singh pops up in front of your eyes wearing all the possible colors at once and it spooks the hell out of you that you’ll only look outrageous with all that glim-glam. Seems overwhelming, right? Sweat not, I’ve made it easy for you to understand the COLOR WHEEL – Read on!
Now of course, there are no rules to fashion, you can literally wear anything that you want and look dapper in it too. That being said, identifying which colors best flatter you and help you stand out and radiate your energy the best is always a good idea. It’s no biggie – here’s how you can do it, Firstly,
Determine Your Undertone
It’s actually pretty simple, your undertone is either cool, warm, or neutral. No matter how light or dark your complexion is, there are a couple of ways to go about it,
- Look at the veins in your wrist, if your veins appear blue, it indicates that you have a cool undertone and if they appear green, the tone is warmer.
- Look at your jewelry, Silvers tend to look good on cool skin tones and gold generally tends to flatter the warm ones.
- Look at your basics, if you routinely go for basic blacks and whites, your skin is cool while a preference for ivory and shades of brown hints at a warm undertone.
Still confused? Can’t seem to be falling in either of the sides, if yes, you’re a lucky chap my friend, you might have a neutral undertone, best of both worlds!
Know What Color Suits Your Undertone
Cool – Greys, Crisp Whites, Sea Shades are some of the tints to go to.
Warm – Earth Tones, Orange, Yellow, Taupe and off whites work the best.
Neutral – Pretty much everything looks great on you guys, just stop boasting okay! And yes, just try and avoid colors that are too bright.
Universal Colors – Now these are the evergreen ones, True Red, Teal, Dark Purple etc.
I like how many of you made that face after reading the heading – “Say what now?” Yeah…. Fashion can be a little more sophisticated and detailed than you originally thought it would be. Anyhow, there are colors to bowl over and rock in according to seasons as well toit So, first off,
Winters, you’ll look great in deep, rich colors such as black, deep blue and dark pink.
Spring, look your best in soft, rich and warm colors such as peach, golden yellow, copper, coral are great choices.
Autumn, shades like peach, beige, brown, red and dark blonde are the shades which are common for the season.
Summers, people look excellent in soft shades and muted colors with cool undertones. Some of the best colors include dusty or rose pink, pale yellow, lavender or powder blue.
While it’s advisable to stick to the shades that work for you, discovering them is not exactly a cakewalk either. There is still one piece of advice that I personally feel is very important to understand for everyone out there. There is this one particular colour which makes you look stunning almost instantly and not many people are aware of this colour. It’s, CONFIDENCE – Yup… wear that confidence like Superman’s cape and just see them heads turn peeps! Enjoy the exploring, Ciao!
